Velirium 2017 UCI Mountain Bike World Cup

The Québec City region is hosting the 2017 Mountain Bike World Cup, which runs from August 4 to 6 at Mont Sainte-Anne. This international competition welcomes more than 1,000 athletes from around the world, from more than 25 countries.

Several competitions are on the program:

Downhill World Cup

It is a race against the clock in which competitors face many challenges. The Mont Sainte-Anne’s downhill course is one of the most physically demanding and requires to go through several natural obstacles such as bumps, roots and very high speed sections. This is one of the most demanding and spectacular events.
As new in 2017, the start of the cyclists will be given in the arrival area of the gondolas at the top of the mountain. The start will be much more spectacular than in the past and the spectators will have a place of choice at the height of the Summit lodge. The spectators will be privileged throughout the course and on arrival by stages with an exceptional view as well as giant screens on the course.

Cross-country World Cup

The Cross Country World Cup is an Olympic type event. It includes a rugged endurance course with sections of technical descents and climbs over a length of 4 kilometers. Depending on the category, the riders will have to repeat the course between 5 to 7 times for a total duration of approximately 1:45 of pure pleasure for the spectators.

Raid Velo Mag

For amateurs and experienced athletes who want to take part to an official competition, this event offers you the opportunity to participate in several races of varying lengths of 15, 30, 60 and 100 kilometers. Nearly 600 participants are expected. Participants will benefit from sections of tracks that are generally not accessible to the public.

Veli-Kidz race

The Veli-Kidz race is intended for children from 2 to 12 years old who can be the future bike stars of tomorrow. Register your kids for this family friendly and safe race.

Pumptrack race

The Pumptrack race is performed on a circuit built of mounds and artificial inclined curves made of clay. This race is one of the most spectacular with its steep curves and extreme speeds.

Duel de la côte

These competitions are head-to-head battle for everyone. This competition is open to all who want to participate, with all types of bike. It is a memorable experience for all lovers.

GAAP Enduro

A series of 4 timed downhill runs that is won by the one who produces the best combined time on the 4 events. The path of the races are not known in advance. All those who have good endurance and are fast on biks have the chance to win this event.

Vélirium 2018

The dates of the Vélirium 2018 are already known. The event will be held at Mont Saint-Anne from August 10 to 12, 2018.
