Admire Quebec City from its highest point
The Quebec Capital Observatory (Observatoire de la Capitale)
Even in the heart of Quebec City, you have access to a unique view of the city and its environs. The top floor of the Édifice Marie-Guyart, a building housing many of the government’s offices, and still referred by locals simply as Complexe G, stands at 221 meters (725 feet) above sea level and has been open to the public since 1998.
Arriving on the 31st floor of the building, you will discover a 360 ° panoramic view of the entire city of Quebec including the St. Lawrence River, the mountains in the distance, the town of Lévis on the other side of the river, and the surrounding area. Among the attractions that can be seen from this spectacular point of view are the Château Frontenac, the Québec City Parliament, the Citadelle, the ramparts of Old Québec, the Price building, the Port of Québec and the Videotron Center.
Beautiful Québec City
This most beautiful panoramic viewing point was revamped in 2016 at the cost of $425,000. The Observatory at the top the Édifice Marie-Guyart is one of the most unknown tourist attractions in the City of Quebec. Despite this, no less than 70,000 visitors come to the top of this building every year.
The Observatory is an unavoidable attraction that is worth visiting. Discover Quebec from its highest point and enjoy the best panoramic views of the city and its environs. Don’t forget to take those memorable pictures!
