Soon comes spring skiing in Québec

As spring ushers in hints of warmer weather, the perfect time for skiing is upon us. If you enjoy snowboarding, downhill skiing and cross country skiing, the greater Québec city area ski resorts are just the thing for you!

The cold stretch we have experienced at the end of 2017 really put our love of outdoor activities to the test when it came to practicing winter sports. All the perks of regular skiing plus a bit more fun in the sun. Here are three ski resorts that extend their season by a few extra weekends…just for you!

Mont-Sainte-Anne : Quite possibly the most renowned of all three. For decades now, it has hosted major international ski and snowboard events in the winter and they offer world class mountain biking in the summer. Three sides of the mountain have been trailed and are open to public. With 71 differents trails, beginners and pros will have a blast! Mont-Ste-Anne is an impressive mountain with 625 meters of skiable elevation. For spring skiing, try the north side of the mountain in the morning for winter like conditions and then the south side in the afternoon to warm up in the sun. It it the perfect ski resort for young and old and is only 50 minutes away from le Manoir d’Auteuil!

Le Massif de Charlevoix : The Charlevoix region is an endless source of gorgeous scenery and quaint villages. It is also where the Massif de Charlevoix ski resort is located. With over a third (35%) of its trails being for experts, this mountain targets a more experienced clientele. The view from the summit promises to take anyone’s breath away. Some trails are even designed so as to feel as though you will be ending your descent in the Saint-Lawrence river. With an impressive 770 meters of skiable elevation and 52 trails, you can easily spend a whole day on the slopes. And after a good day on the mountain, you can visit Baie-St-Paul, an artistic and touristic village nearby. We recommend planning for a whole day out as the Massif if more than an hour away.

Centre de Ski Stoneham : Stoneham ski resort is the closest and most affordable of all three mountains. It is mainly family oriented. At only 30 minutes drive from downtown Québec city, Stoneham offers 42 trails divided in 3 peaks. With a meager 345 meters skiable elevation this mountain is aiming for a less experienced and younger clientele. The Jacques-Cartier National Park is also worth a hike or two. The evening ski makes a combo easy on the same day! You won’t regret the magnificent scenery of the area!

All snow sports enthusiasts will find a resort that fits their level and needs. Winter is not over yet and we invite you to enjoy all that skiing offers and more!
