Iconic Quebec City bike paths

Quebec City is known for its network of easily accessible bike paths. One of the most emblematic routes in the city is the Parc linéaire de la Rivière-Saint-Charles.

This trail winds along the Saint-Charles River and offers breathtaking views of the surrounding nature.  In season, you can admire a wide variety of birds as well as the aquatic fauna of the region.

We suggest taking a rest at the Cartier-Brébeuf National Historic Site in the Vieux-Limoilou district with a delicious snack.

Another popular bike path is the Corridor du Littoral. This trail stretches over 50 kilometers along the St. Lawrence River and offers breathtaking coastal landscapes.

By taking this trail, you will have the chance to admire the Montmorency Falls, which are even higher than the famous Niagara Falls. On the Corridor du Littoral, it is also possible to go to the Promenade Samuel-De-Champlain as well as to the Aquarium du Québec.

The bike path along the Champlain promenade is a true paradise for cyclist. Bordered by magnificent landscapes, it allows you to enjoy breathtaking views of the St. Lawrence River and of Quebec City.  We recommend you access this bike path from the Quartier Petit Champlain and it is possible to go as far as the Pont de Québec and the Pont Pierre-Laporte.

Another beautiful bike path to try is the Corridor des Cheminots. This 22 km long path crosses the suburbs north of Quebec. The trail allows you to visit two attractions of interest in Quebec City: Domaine Maizeret and the Wendake Reservation.

Explore Old Quebec by bike

Explore the cobbled streets and narrow alleys of Old Quebec City by bike. Pedal along the ramparts, admire the imposing fortifications and soak up the European atmosphere that reigns in the streets.

Continue through the Plains of Abraham with a destination of the Museum of Fine art, but for those true enthusiasts, continue to Le Parc du Bois-de-Coulonge.

This is a wonderful way to spend an afternoon in Quebec City. You will discover architectural treasures such as the Château Frontenac, Place Royale and the Cathédrale Notre-Dame de Québec and the Joan d’Arc gardens in the Plaines of Abraham.

Québec-Lévis Ferry by bike

Try the Quebec-Lévis Ferry by bike via the bike path. It is a memorable and fun way to explore the other side of the St. Lawrence River. On the boat, enjoy a spectacular view of both banks.

We highly recommend a photo from the Ferry of Old Quebec City as the sun begins to set.  The twilight image of the Old City at night is breathtaking. Consult the Société des Traversiers du Québec website for the up-to-date daily schedule.
