With the return of the warm weather, here are our suggestions to fully enjoy the spring season in the magnificent Quebec City.

Antique Dealers and Art Gallery Tour

Discovering the antique shops of Quebec City is a journey through time, a dive into history through unique objects full of history. From period furniture to vintage jewelry, each piece tells a fascinating story. Take the time to chat with passionate owners ready to share their knowledge.

We also highly recommend combining your antique dealer tour with a tour of the art galleries of Quebec City, located mainly in the Petit Champlain and Vieux Port districts. The Musee des Beaux Arts does also offer art classes, but you must book those well in advance as they fill up.

As you walk the city’s cobbled streets and discover unique works that demonstrate the richness and diversity of Quebec’s artistic scene, you may well meet the artists at work, interact with them and discover the history and techniques behind each piece of art.

Here are the popular streets to explore to discover the antique shops and art galleries of Quebec City:

Treasure Street (rue des Trésors)
Saint-Pierre Street
Saint-Paul Street
Sault-au-Matelot Street
Petit-Champlain Street

Relaxation time in a spa

Do you want to relax in nature on the banks of a river? We suggest you to go at Sibéria Spa.

Do you prefer stay close to the city and pass the day to in front of the majestic St. Lawrence River ? Then we suggest you the Strom Spa in Old Quebec City.

Musée des Beaux-Arts de Québec

Spring is a perfect time to stroll through the elegant galleries of the Musée des Beaux-Arts de Québec. Be inspired by the works of local and international artists and take part in guided tours to enrich your visit.

Visit the website of the Musée des Beaux-Arts de Québec to find out about current exhibitions.

Extend your visit with a walk on the famous Plains of Abraham. This vast urban park is splendid in spring. Take the opportunity to learn more about the history of this site which was the scene of a decisive battle between the British and the French in 1759.

Our suggestion if the weather is good is to go to the Martello Tower.

Walk with ghosts

For the adventurous visitors, Walk with Ghosts offers a unique experience, combining history and legends in the streets of Old Quebec City. By the light of a lantern, discover stories of ghosts and mysterious events that have marked the historic sites of Quebec City. Having been on a ghost tour, I can certainly attest just how much fun and interesting this tour can be. It is quite surprising to understand the connection with the superstitions of the times, not far from the Salem Witch trials during the same time period.

The atmosphere is captivating, ideal for fans of supernatural stories and folklore. A guided tour with the Promenades Fantômes is an original and unforgettable way to explore Quebec City and its mysterious past.

Greater snow goose

Observation of the greater snow goose

The Cap-Tourmente National Wildlife Reserve, a true gem for forest hiking, is recognized as a migratory bird refuge.

It is a privileged place for observing greater snow geese in their natural habitat during their migration northward from mid-April to mid-May.

Snow geese offer a breathtaking spectacle as they fly over the lands and waters of the St. Lawrence river. Trust us, this is quite an amazing sight to see.

The site is very popular for ornithology enthusiasts, and in fact the reserve is home to more than 180 species of birds, several of which are in danger such as the peregrine falcon and the bobolink.

The trails are very well laid out, allowing you to enjoy the panoramic views of the St.Lawrence river and the surrounding mountains. Anyone can make this journey as the paths allow for an easy walk through the reserve.
